The word sadness does not even fit my feelings from Friday the 14th.
.
Grief, Terror, Confusion, Disbelief and profound thoughts again of what is important in life.
I am almost at the point that I cant think of listening to the news and want to take a media break.
The pictures of the children on computers and TV are just a reminder once again of the innocence of children.
So once again I go back to the things that are IMPORTANT IN LIFE.....
1. Spending time in prayer/ reading the bible
2, TELLING your loved ones YOU CARE
3. Living life enjoying each moment because you just dont KNOW whats next.
4. Getting enough REST.
5, Drinking Water and Eating at least ONE good meal
6. Being kind to each other, the Golden rule..
7. Trying NOT to say mean things... Again if you cant say something nice DONT!
8. Keep your mind active in learning something NEW.
9. Enjoying Music because its a FREE gift
10. Having a DAILY DOSE of LAUGHTER
Thats my list! Which brings my mind to NEW Goals for 2013!!!!
But those are thoughts for another day!

Holidays are started
All I say that thanksgiving was different. Wish I was better at posting pics I would post up and
pic of confusion.. LOL But we had our moments of fun. We did go around the room of our 22 people
and say something we were thankful for. My hubby not feeling well said a place to live.. I know wishing
he was home in BED asleep not having to pretend to be happy to eat.
I stated very truthfully that I was Thankful for Technology. I was glad for my phone and computer. Yes
I did say it! I was feeling down that I was not with my family but I heard their voices that morning
on the phone.
We then went ATE, played a game of Bop it.. A game I always thought was very annoying but for
some reason did seem so bad this day. The last thing I was able to participate in was some songs
played from guitars. Not our normal tunes but some Elvis ones.. Very different but lots of fun!
Ended up going home early because hubby was not feeling good at all and felt bad for him.
T ruefully it was nice to go and relax.
So now we are onto Dec. I am so trying to enjoy what I can. The holidays are not easy for me.
Since losing my brother 13yrs ago things just have not been the same. But I do my best to enjoy
the REASONS for the season!
1. Jesus being born
2. Singing Christmas songs
3. The beauty of lights
4. Candles lite
5. Egg Nog
6. Cards
7. Christmas movies (yes does include Its a wonderful Life)
8. Christmas programs with Children singing
9. Crafts to be made
10. Closer to end of the year! LOVE new years with CALENDARS
That is my list to enjoy the season!
And yes I do believe that JESUS SHOULD BE the REASON FOR the SEASON!

Black Friday- WORKING
Well for weeks now everyone at work has been waiting to see if we were going to have the Friday
after Thanksgiving off. Its been kind of a waiting game. So today we find out YES they want us to
work from 1-7pm. (NOT my normal hours mind you)
If I would have been smart I would have thought about it and planned better. But then I am NOT a shopper on that day so I didn't think about it.But then it was in the past always nice just to relax and have that day for the Turkey leftover sandwiches and to just CHILL..
I also had in my head that my husband that never gets off who is in retail IS OFF. (made it worse)
Normally we get a choice BUT not this year. If we don't come in it counts against us. Goes
on our attendance record. (which mine has been pretty good) We will also lose a day pay.
(which we don't get paid Thur. either so it cuts two days down) Also kinda warned us that
the holiday month of Dec is coming and everything slows down and we loose days then too.
So I started to kinda feel that at-least they were nice to give us a choice.
And then I started to think some more and found that I was kinda having a pity party.
I HAVE a job when some don't. And there are at least 10 Careers that do work the holiday DAY...
1. Hospitals
2. Jails
3. Firehouses
4. 911 Operators
5. Police
6 Phone Company
7. Gas Company
8. Airports, Train stations
9 .News reporters
10. RETAIL STORES
So Granted I don t come NO WHERE NEAR what these people make.
I am in good company in having to work on Black Friday.. (what a name)
I think I will wear ALL Black that day to protest. LOL (Joking)

The NEW things with the OLD.
New things with the old. I started thinking of things that are new and hoping still for the OLD.
People walked every where or depended on horses, bikes, or more simple forms of transportation. Now you see either SUV s all over or electric cars or these tiny cars called smart cars.. (are they so smart?)
We didn't have cell phones everywhere we went. NOW the big thing is the Smart phone with Internet and GPS tracking.
(which I don't have one yet but want one but wonder how many weeks it will take me understand)
We had a phone with a cord that you had to sit at home with and the phone rang busy if you were talking.
Yes I still remember the days before there was call waiting and caller id.
TVs now have to be flat screen. Which yes I am still stuck in the old ages with a box heavy and all.
Also the NEW thing if you want FREE TV you have to have a converter box. The only nice thing
about that is we did get some new channels.
A friend reminded me of many family members in one house. And now we live separated all over
the world but yet can connect now and see each other with Skype. (which I did use in the past)
Coffee used to be made in a pot on the stove in homes. Now we have at least 6 types of coffee
shops on every corner it seems. And its fancy stuff too.
One thing new I REALLY don't think is good is the new car doors with no keys or start a car with no
key. The push button or codes to get in just seems to easy to me.
Kids NEW toys are really hard for me to understand too. Kids walking around with small hand held
video games just look to me like the adults with the cell phones. ( I know harsh but it just drives me
nuts to see a parent out to dinner with their child and they have their laptop or smartphone going and
the kid is siting across the table playing this small game. What is wrong with going out to eat and having
a talk with your child or just enjoying spending time with THEM. (sorry that is a big pet peeve of mine)
I am hoping that there will be book stores in the next 10 years with e books and the kindles and nook
readers being so popular. Yes I think they are cool but I still love the book and library!
So those of some of the NEW but Here is the OLD I hope that will be still in the future!
1. The library
2. In print newspapers and magazines. (not just online)
3. Coffee pots that we can use at home.
4. That Channel 11 will always have educational things
5. Not all having to be the same electrical cars (yes to big CARS)
6. Radios
7. The written letter or card
8. Bikes
9. Keys for doors and cars
10. Creative toys like blocks, coloring books, cars like matchbox, and YES for play dough!
So that concludes my list for today its just MY opinion. Bring on the future ideas!

Craft fair fun
I had so much fun at my first real craft fair. I was helping a friend and she also let me display some
of my crochet flowers. I actually sold 6 flowers! I was so happy! Seeing the pleasure on peoples
faces with something I created was just so much fun. And then they wanted to buy one made me
just want to jump for joy!
But what was also so much for me was there was over 250 other crafters there to talk and meet and
see how they did their creations. My mind was filled with ideas, admiration and excitement to try new
things! My favorites were:
1. A Journal maker (which she also did Planners and bibles. I LOVED have her card)
2. A artist that made art with books
3. Crocheters that made scarfs with fancy yarn
4. Jewelry makers that made their own beads
5. Soap makers with sweet smells and funny titles
6. Hair ribbons/ Hair twisters for braids
7. Fleece blankets with scarfs to match
8. Cup cake ladies (very decorate and looked yummy)
9. Fudge makers (the smell was awesome)
10. A picture maker with tiles.
I had a ball collecting my favorite business cards. I felt like I was on a treasure hunt and plan
go to many more!

Taboo talking subjects Vs Safe list
I know that with so many politics is a taboo to talk about.
Sadly today I was torn. I am not in favor really of either candidate and was still thinking about voting
the end of the day.. Does that make me a BAD person. Some people would say YES.. Americans
should VOTE! Especially women voters. Past women had to fight so hard to get the right to vote.
Politics have never been my cup of tee or I never wanted to know more.. I am not a history buff.
Now being a adult I have grown a little more interested and tried to be more conscious about
past history and paid more attention to things for the future history.
Now thinking about it there is also:
1. Religion
2. Money
3. Race
4. Age
5. . Dealth
6. Values
7. History or past presidents
8. Taxes
9. Sex
10.Negative traits
All these subjects can send people into a tizzy when having to talk with someone you
don't really know very well or like. So I now think of the Safe list to talk about:
1. Weather
2.. Hobbies
3. Food
4. Vacations
5, Movies or Tv
6. A book remondation
7. How they are feeling ( cold, hungry, bored, happy, how they slept)
8. Music
9. Sports
10. Exercise or lack of it
So that is my list for the next event that I have to be at..
I sure hope I can remember to be kind and stay away for the bad ones.

Thankful for changes in Activites
Well I am off to a good start of my weekend.
WE went to our first night of small group Friday. It was fun, food and friends. (notice I had allot of F's
For Fri)
Sat. Did some wash, Got a care package from my sister N Law. She brought me a heating pad for
my hip hurting, some Hot chocolate, I had such a craving, and some apple taffy loopy pops. (a Halloween
time tradition for us) We sat and watched a movie together. What a great way to spend a Sat.
I sometimes wish I was more active and did some more active things like youngsters that I know do.
But then I think about it and nope its just not for me.
Like:
1. Jogging (never have done and really have no desire)
2. Yoga ( Not good with the balance)
3. Going to several malls Power shopping .(now that I would love but it makes me to sad with NO money)
4. Going to a concert. (love to go but knees hurt for the stairs and standing)
5. Going to a sports event. Again knees
6. Bowling (back is not doing good right now)
7. Ice skating (used to LOVE but maybe that's why the knees hurt now.. LOL)
8. Tennis (had fun doing last summer but only 10 minutes)
9. Biking (seems to hurt more now than did years ago)
10. Going to museum (again stairs and expensive)
ON the plus side now I CAN do:
1. Walking
2. Talking
3. Washing
4. Dancing in my private space.
5.Crafts (crochet, drawing, painting, colleges, beads)
6. Book reading
7 Sudoku
8. Web surfing (FB, Pintrest, Blogger, Twitter)
9. Journaling
10. Enjoy my lazy boy chair with heating pad!
So time does move me in a different way of life.
But I try to enjoy each moment and remember how Thankful and truly blessed I am!

Fun/Meaning in this day
Halloween was always a strange day for me. Growing up in a christian home my mom would let us have the
fun of the day. (Costumes, Candy, Parties and trick or treating) I was always something fun like a princess
or clown. Something just silly. Nothing to do with Witches or anything scary.
But the older I got the more serious it would become. By 8th grade it started to get to not feel fun and also I started to have mixed feelings how my church would see the holiday differently. The 8th graders were egg throwers and shaving cream was part of the run home to be safe. At that point we started to only go to park districts for parties and haunted houses. I never like the idea of being scared and the dark side of Halloween.
Now it seems churches have tried to also make it fun again. Clowns and Bible characters have made the way
to dress up and games are included in the fun and of course lots of candy. So this year I didn't help with it but
next year I will be there!
Work had a awesome pot luck lunch. With the contest winner being a gypsy and Cat in the Hat as the runner up. I had a shirt that said JUST GO TO BE ME!!!
.Still hoping that my dear hubby will bring home some marked down Candy like he did last year!
I will always have that part of me that enjoys the part of CANDY!!!

Just the same street
I went out of the house today to go to the library and a walk with friends. We went down the same street
that we normally do but some how it felt different. Saw different signs and things I didn't notice. I can
truly felt it felt good to have the wind in my face and not have to be at a certain place on time.
I reminded me of movies I have seen so many times but then I notice something different each time.
And I have had book that I picked up that I have not read in years and again it was different.
But I guess I am different too.
Time changes things. But it can be a good thing!
My list for today is Same but different:
1, Holidays- same theme each year but some how each year is different.
2. School - All should be going to learn the same thing and yet its different.
3. Church- When people are going could hear the same sermon and get something different.
4, Winter/summer- Again we all go threw the same weather and each can respond differently.
5. Handwriting- We all can write in many different styles each day.
6. Words- We all can say the same sentence but some how it can feel different.
7. Days/Time- We all have the same but yet we do things so much differently.
8. Sleep- Again we all have a choice and need it but all do it so different.
I don't know why but these things just struck me today that we all have chances to do
things in the same way but then our choices make us so different.
I hope to be keep using my choices wisely!

Surpises
This weekend has started out with such wonderful surprises!
I car pool each day and my friend wanted to leave early on Friday so off I went too!
My hubby home decided to take me out to a early dinner
then he told me didn't have to go and do errands and got to go and play cards at my sister n law.
Then he tells me we can go to my Moms place of worship to get some business done and visit old friends! That made 3 wonderful surprises in one day!
Then sitting home thinking of chores I didn't want to do this Sat. and being lonely not wanting to bother anyone I yet turn the computer.. Only to find that my dear friend is coming in for a birthday party.. Such fun!
A VERY JOYFUL surprise!
Life each day can hold a special surprise at any turn of the day. You just never know.
Here is a list of my favorites:
1. A call from a friend you have not heard from.
2. Finding money you didn't expect. (in your pocket, wash, or street)
3. A card in the mail someone just saying HI.
4. Getting a get well basket. (I got one from my sister n law)
5. Hearing your favorite song on the radio.Just when you need to hear it!
6. Seeing a rainbow or cloud shapes so cool.
7. A sunset with all the pretty colors.
8. Someone buying a coffee not expecting anything back.
9. A person opening a door for you with a smile.
10. Someone telling you, you look nice today.
Life can be so hard, its nice to have the good surprises to look forward to!

Define a new phase in life
Well after a long 8mths of illness our care taking time has come to a end. I have learned so much of
the process of watching a loved one go threw a process of dying.
Now thinking we did keep a journalof our times with him and If I had the courage I would love to put that into a book but that would needthe permission of other family members.
Courage is a word to focus on in this new phase of my life.
That is a new way of thinking of it. I have created a bucket list so many years ago maybe its time
to get working on that! I need to get busy living!

Making most of a day
Here is something that never got posted on the right day but still wanted to share.
Today was a interesting day. I started out thinking of my dear friend of her birthday. She is a amazing single mom of two charming boys. I so admire her! I know that she knows how to make the most of her day
because she has to. So many to do, Cooking, cleaning, feeding them, making sure they are safe and the
list is endless. Makes me tired just thinking of it!
So as I went to work I thought of how I make my time in the day go by. Making at least 100 calls to people
all day hoping that they will be able to go to a group and share the opinions and get paid to do it. So many
rejections I get and each time I think man I wish it was me and I could go! I would love $ 300-150
for just being with a group of people just sharing time and our opinions. People just amaze me. They say
we all have a story to tell in our lives and each probably can tell the same story differently.
I then came home ate a sandwich, alone once again. But I had a joy of a phone call asking if I wanted
to watch a DVD with some friends. So being a close neighbor with nothing really to do.(OH I have plenty
of cleaning I could do but NO energy for that or desire) So I watched with them Extremely Loud & incredibly close. A extremely emotional movie. But it so made me think of my life and has given me a
new desire to make the most of my life!

New Challenges
My life has taken a interesting turn. I have been now joined a team of care givers. I always HAVE had
respect for care givers. I know it takes allot of compassion and patience to take care of someone who
is sick. Even more if its someone you love. My parents are aging but are still OK to take care of themselves.
But I know down the road it will not be so. My hubby's dad is now sick and needs 24hr care and we are
part of the team to help. It is sad and draining to watch him suffer.
But now its the time to see about living arrangements. Which is always a big decision even when a person
is well. There is so many things to consider. So once again I am going back to my list of stress busters
that I can do to take hold and take care of me:
1. Read my Bible
2. Read books of encouragement
3. Take Naps
4. Enjoy internet sites : Face book, Pinterest, E Blogger
5. Walks to the Library
6. Showers
7. Phone Calls from Friends
8. Painting my Nails
9. Crochet
10. Writing in my Journal /Drawing
I must say I do Love PInterest so much! Its such good therapy for me!

Idea of a care giver
February seemed to just fly by. Had lots of Birthdays too! Which for the most part once again I struggle
with what to do. Thank goodness once again I am able to be creative and make gifts. My Brother
loves gum so I made him a Gum card. My Pappa loves my hats I have crocheted so I made him
a new one. And then others I just make cards to what they like in life or how smart they are!!!!
But February also brought a new thought in my life as role of being a potential part time care
giver and looking for assisted living places. For my VERY ill father N Law and also my Mom
has been asking me to look on the Internet. Thank goodness for the Internet!!!
I look at my two dear loved ones and think man how did the years go by this fast
and they get so sick. I know everyone gets older and with age sickness does come.
I feel my bones creak more each day. I can say they have both lived good lives and now
its up to us to make their final days comfortable as possible.I so struggle with the thought of
losing them and how my life is moving into middle age and I still have 30yrs of working to do.
I want to make the most of my days and yet some days its just a fight to keep moving.
But I will just to have to keep singing one of my favorite songs The Joy of the Lord
will be my strength! I will not falter or faint. He will uphold me all my days. I am surrounded
by Mercy and Grace!!!!

Being YOU
I once again ran into a Dr. Seuss Quote that I liked:
TODAY you are YOU
that is TRUER than True
There is NO ONE alive
who is YOUER than YOU!
I made me think of when I was young when I was always trying to be something that I was
not. I wanted to be a singing star, skinny, wealthy, and always traveling.
But now I am fine in my skin.
Yes I would love to be at a healthy weight but NOT skinny by any means.
Singing I am happy just to do in the shower or in my room. Even though I do sing in the
church worship team that will be changing to and its JUST fine.
As far as being wealthy I just want to HAVE enough to pay bills!
I would like to have more to have FUN in free time but that will come!
I don't have credit cards and its just fine with me.
Travel is the real thing I wish I could say I still long to do. I want to be able mainly
to go see friends and family that are now spread out in so many places.
People are so much MORE to me than Places for me!
Being me is OK and I get more comfortable all the time!
