Fun/Meaning in this day

Halloween was always a strange day for me. Growing up in a christian home my mom would let us have the
fun of the day. (Costumes, Candy, Parties and trick or treating) I was always something fun like a princess
or clown. Something just silly. Nothing to do with Witches or anything scary.

But the older I got the more serious it would become. By 8th grade it started to get to not feel  fun and also I started to have mixed feelings how my church would see the holiday differently. The 8th graders were egg throwers and shaving cream was part of the run home to be safe. At that point we started to only go to park districts for parties and haunted houses. I never like the idea of being scared and the dark side of Halloween.

Now it seems churches have tried to also make it fun again. Clowns and Bible characters have made the way
to dress up and games are included in the fun and of course lots of candy. So this year I didn't help with it but
next year I will be there!

Work had a awesome pot luck lunch. With the contest winner being a gypsy and Cat in the Hat as the runner up. I had a shirt that said JUST GO TO BE ME!!!

.Still hoping that my dear hubby will bring home some marked down Candy like he did last year!
I will always have that part of me that enjoys the part of CANDY!!!
