Fun/Meaning in this day

Halloween was always a strange day for me. Growing up in a christian home my mom would let us have the
fun of the day. (Costumes, Candy, Parties and trick or treating) I was always something fun like a princess
or clown. Something just silly. Nothing to do with Witches or anything scary.

But the older I got the more serious it would become. By 8th grade it started to get to not feel  fun and also I started to have mixed feelings how my church would see the holiday differently. The 8th graders were egg throwers and shaving cream was part of the run home to be safe. At that point we started to only go to park districts for parties and haunted houses. I never like the idea of being scared and the dark side of Halloween.

Now it seems churches have tried to also make it fun again. Clowns and Bible characters have made the way
to dress up and games are included in the fun and of course lots of candy. So this year I didn't help with it but
next year I will be there!

Work had a awesome pot luck lunch. With the contest winner being a gypsy and Cat in the Hat as the runner up. I had a shirt that said JUST GO TO BE ME!!!

.Still hoping that my dear hubby will bring home some marked down Candy like he did last year!
I will always have that part of me that enjoys the part of CANDY!!!

Just the same street

I went out of the house today to go to the library and a walk with friends. We went down the same street
that we normally do but some how it felt different. Saw different signs and things I didn't notice. I can
truly felt it felt good to have the wind in my face and not have to be at a certain place on time.

I reminded me of movies I have seen so many times but then I notice something different each time.
And I have had book that I picked up that I have not read in years and again it was different.
But I guess I am different too.
Time changes things. But it can be a good thing!

My list for today is Same but different:

1, Holidays- same theme each year but some how each year is different.
2. School - All should be going to learn the same thing and yet its different.
3. Church- When people are going could hear the same sermon and get something different.
4, Winter/summer- Again we all go threw the same weather and each can respond differently.
5. Handwriting- We all can write in many different styles each day.
6. Words- We all can say the same sentence but some how it can feel different.
7. Days/Time- We all have the same but yet we do things so much differently.
8. Sleep- Again we all have a choice and need it but all do it so different.

I don't know why but these things just struck me today that we all have chances to do
things in the same way but then our choices make us so different.

I hope to be keep using my choices wisely!

This weekend has started out with such wonderful surprises!

I car pool each day and my friend wanted to leave early on Friday so off  I went too!
My hubby home decided to take me out to a early dinner
then he told me didn't have to go and do errands and got to go and play cards at my sister n law.
Then he tells me we can go to my Moms place of worship to get some business done and visit old friends! That made 3 wonderful surprises in one day!

Then sitting home thinking of chores I didn't want to do this Sat. and being lonely not wanting to bother anyone I yet turn the computer.. Only to find that my dear friend is coming in for a birthday party.. Such fun!
